I’m Charles W. Smith, a Texas-born singer-songwriter bringing classic country, acoustic covers, and original songs to life with a deep baritone voice, a six-string guitar, and a whole lot of Texas soul.
I walked into Guitar Center looking for a set of strings and walked out thinking about a used Seagull I couldn’t afford. I’ve owned some mighty fine guitars over the years, but that little $350 Seagull became something special. And after picking it up again recently, I remembered exactly why it ain’t ever going anywhere.
A couple of weeks ago, life was pretty ordinary. Then one Wednesday changed everything. A few thoughts about my mom, the little conversations we take for granted, and how sometimes the things that seem like nothing turn out to mean everything. ❤️
Recording my first original song taught me something I wasn’t expecting. Learning music isn’t just about training your fingers and your voice. Sometimes your ears have to catch up too. And apparently mine finally figured out that 70 BPM is too dang slow. 😂🎸🎙️
